TAG Heuer has just unveiled the latest edition of their prestigious Monaco collection. The release of the all-new TAG Heuer Monaco Green Dial mark’s this year’s Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, of which TAG Heuer is the official sponsor. This special green dial version is limited to only 500 pieces and is sure to entice watch lovers with its beautiful dial colour and the brand’s modern interpretation of the maverick design.
TAG Heuer’s bond with motorsports is stronger than ever. As mentioned earlier, this piece was released in time for a major event in which the brand is the sponsor and the Timekeeper. The Swiss watchmaker is also the Official Watch of the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix and the Official Watch Partner of the Monaco Top Cars Collection.
Design:
The TAG Heuer Monaco Green Dial comes housed in a 39mm polished and fine-brushed stainless-steel case. Featuring a domed, beveled sapphire crystal, the watch is also water-resistant to 100 meters (10 Bar). The green sun-ray brushed dial gives a nice contrast against the stainless steel case. The center of the dial is a luscious light green, which then turns into a dark green as the gradient of the colour changes.
To give further contrast to the dial, two black subdials are located at the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions. The rhodium-plated hands and indexes which are filled with superluminova stand out well against the black background. At the 6 o’clock position, a subtle constant second indicator is shown, along with a date window thats integrated into the sub-dial.
The TAG Heuer Monaco Green Dial is presented in a black alligator leather strap, which matches well with the dial and further adds to the contrast effect between dial and case. The dial on this latest Monaco sure is beautiful, with the radiant green being matched quite well with the contrasting black and white features. It’ll be hard to take your eyes off the dial that’s for sure!
Movement:
TAG Heuer has given the Monaco Green Dial the Calibre Heuer 02 Automatic movement. The Calibre Heuer 02 movement puts out a power reserve of approximately 80 hours, which is an increase of 30 hours from the brands Heuer 01 movement. The vertical clutch used in the Heuer 02 movement also improves the precision of the start-and-stop functions along with the running of the chronograph second hand. The precision is further improved as it also has a frequency of 4Hz (28, 800 VpH).
This latest creation from TAG Heuer will be presented in a new packaging, which was specifically created to evoke the racing heritage of the TAG Heuer Monaco collection. The TAG Heuer Monaco Green Dial is available in selected boutiques worldwide and on the brand’s website.
