Where will you go next?

History

Ulysse Nardin was well known for manufacturing marine chronometers and high-precision seafaring instruments for commercial ships and navies throughout the world. His pocket and marine chronometers became reference products in civil, military, and scientific realms. In the late 19th century horologist were generally French and English. The swiss watchmaker challenged the status quo by winning the “Prize Medal” at 1862 International Exhibition in London in the category of “complicated watches and pocket chronometers”. Ulysse Narding sadly passed away in 1876, and his son Paul-David Nardin succeeded him as the head of the company. However, his legacy of producing exceptional marine chronometers continued and the company commenced delivering these high precision instrument to US Navy in 1902. The company has since provided timepieces to navies of the US, the UK, Russia and Japan.

The Three Varients

The 2020 Dual Time comes in three versions: steel with a black strap, steel with a blue strap and stunning rose gold. Powered by the UN-24 dual time movement, the functionality of this beauty is easy to master. It features a new oscillating weight with a prominent, encircled UN logo and has a simple pin buckle on the strap. At 42 mm, the refreshed Dual Time is an indispensable touch of elegance the sophisticated traveller will never want to leave without.

Elegant and efficient, it has the same case as the Skeleton X with the iconic three-horns signature, and Roman numerals at twelve, three, six and nine o’clock. The date, hour and minutes are complemented by the patented indicator of the Home Time, situated at the nine o’clock marker. The hour hand adjusts forward or backward with the simple touch of the “+” and “-” pushers located opposite the crown and the self-winding movement is visible through the exhibition case back. The dial also features an oversized small seconds hand register at 6 o’clock and a large date in a double window at 2 o’clock. The case is crafted in either 18 ct rose gold or in stainless steel, depending on the model. Water resistant to 50 meters, each piece has a sapphire case back and is individually numbered.

UN-24 Dual Time Movement

UN-24 dual time movement is their in-house movement manufactured at the Le Locale factory in Switzerland where it has its headquarters. The automatic movement provides quick access to change times via its pushers on the left side of the case. The local time can be set forward or backward using the pushers and doing this will also change the date in either direction. This makes is extremely easy to set times when datelines are crossed. The movement is elegant and the most important reason to like this movement is its SIMPLICITY. Pair it up with UN’s nautical design cues which are more endearing than pompous, great build quality and modern styling, you have a dual time watch that you would want on your wrist every time you travel or out to make an impression.
