Watch shopping just gets better along Collins Street in Melbourne with Grand Seiko the latest to open a new boutique in the Block Arcade.
For those of us who may not be aware, Collins Street in Melbourne is a great place to wander up and down if you love watches, or anything luxury for that matter. The who’s who of the watch world seemingly now have a boutique along Collins Street, and even if you’re not in the market for a new piece, it’s a great way to spend a day walking along and stopping by the boutiques and retailers along with the occasional coffee and bite to eat. Now, those who have a penchant for Grand Seiko can browse the collection in the newly opened 250-square-meter boutique that spans three levels on Collins Street and the corner of the Block Arcade.

At the heart of Grand Seiko designs is nature, with the brand loving taking inspiration from the surroundings of their workshops in both Shizukuishi and Shinshu in Japan. They have taken this philosophy of Fūzoku, meaning a deep appreciation of seasonal changes and natural phenomena, inspiring everything from art to watch dials, and placing this squarely into the new Melbourne Boutique.

In this instance, “The Nature Of Time” serves as the inspiration for the new Grand Seiko boutique, with the three main principles of: Aesthetic Inspiration from Nature, Uncompromising Craftsmanship, and The Flow of Time, all being represented in the boutique. From the natural materials used to the quality of the finishes of the boutique to the fluidity and organic nature of time represented in the layout, the boutique serves as a physical reminder and space of how Grand Seiko brings their art and craftsmanship to life.

Across three levels, guests can browse the full collection from Grand Seiko in a relaxing and intimate atmosphere. The boutique offers Grand Seiko collectors access to a private lounge, bar and sitting areas, which provides a more comfortable and private experience. This private area has also been designed to host private events and exhibitions as well, giving people the chance to get up close and personal with the brand and the watches.

“We are delighted to open the first Grand Seiko Melbourne boutique. The Block Arcade, with its historic significance as a luxury shopping precinct, is the perfect location to introduce Grand Seiko’s exquisite timepieces to a discerning Australian audience.”
Vincent Cuche, Head of Grand Seiko Australia and New Zealand.

The Grand Seiko Boutique on Collins Street is now open and welcoming watch lovers and enthusiasts to come in and enjoy the hospitality and of course, watches. if you’re in the area, it is well worth the look, and who knows, you may just walk out of there with a new favourite piece on your wrist!
