As a part of TAG Heuer LVMH 2023 releases, the brand has unveiled the latest edition of their 200 Solargraph model. Presented as the perfect watch for endless adventures and exploration is the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph.
It was only a few months ago that TAG Heuer released their groundbreaking Aquaracer Solargraph at Watches and Wonders 2022. Now, TAG Heuer is showcasing their second timepiece to be powered by a solar movement. Advertised as a watch made for the outdoors (hence solar power!), the Aquaracer collection was the ideal place to start for the creation of a solar-powered watch. A collection is known for its exceptional quality, resistance, performance, lightness and durability.
This latest TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph comes in a 40mm titanium grade 2 sandblasted case giving it a bold metallic look while improving quality and durability even further. The case also has a titanium grade 2 sand-blasted 60-minute scale unidirectional turning bezel. As an outdoors recreational timepiece, the watch is kept as a simple three-hander design with a generous amount of Superluminova on the hour indices and hands. Two superluminova colours are used, green for hour indices and hour hand and a polar blue for the minute hand, to match the polar blue central seconds hand. This gives quite the visually aesthetic look at nighttime and low light conditions.
Hidden underneath the dial is TAG Heuer’s Solargraph movement, the Calibre TH50-00. Known for harnessing the unlimited energy put out by the sun, with the Solargraph movement, there is no need to change the watch’s battery, as it can be recharged by the sun or artificial light. TAG Heuer states that a two-minute exposure to direct sunlight is enough to power the watch for an entire day. A full charge of the battery is equivalent to 20 hours in the sun, for which the watch can run up to six months with no more “recharge” from light exposure. If the battery was to go dead and the timepiece stops ticking, then it only needed exposure to any light source for ten seconds to get it running again.
The watch is offered in a sand-blasted titanium grade 2 bracelet with a titanium grade 2 folding clasp to match the sturdy case.
The perfect watch for outdoors, as it will always be charging as long as it’s exposed to sunlight, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 is re-imagining luxury timepieces for recreational activities. The watch will be sold in TAG Heuer stores worldwide and on the TAG Heuer e-commerce site starting February 2023.
