Earlier this month, Seiko announced they would release two Australian limited edition timepieces. Two beautiful models from Seiko’s Proxpex range with rich contrasting dial colours are set to hit the shores of Australia.
Noosa (SPB347J) 
Eucalyptus (SRPJ53K)
The timepieces are based on Noosa (SPB347J) and Eucalyptus (SRPJ53K). The inspiration behind the Noosa model came from Laguna Bay. The gradient blue dial with matching gradient blue bezel evokes the graceful motion of the Noosa waters. At the same time, the minute and second hands are done in a contrasting bright yellow, a reference to the sun setting over Laguna Bay.
The dial inscriptions, hour indices, and bezel markings are all done in white, so the readability is super crisp, thanks to the stark contrast with the blue. There are also generous amounts of Superluminova used for the hour indices and hands, giving these models a large glow in low-lit conditions.
The dial of the “Eucalyptus” model is supposed to capture the feeling of the Australian bush. With one of Australia’s most famous trees being the Eucalyptus, Seiko has tried to mimic the appearance of this tree on the dial. As the dial goes from almost a yellow to a dark green gradient finish, combined with the silver hands and hour indices, the appearance closely depicts that of the Eucalyptus tree. The yellow minute hand further adds to this image as it’s supposed to represent the veins seen on the Eucalyptus leaf.
Both models come equipped with the automatic calibre 4R36 movement. The watches are standard on the stainless steel bracelet. However, they do also come with an additional rubber strap, a dark blue for the Noosa edition (SPB347J), and a dark green to match the Eucalyptus edition (SRPJ53K).

The models will be limited to 1000 pieces of each timepiece, with the sales of each watch contributing to various marine conservation activities to help better protect the world’s oceans. Both models will be available for purchase at the start of September 2022.
