Tag Heuer’s newest release see’s watchmaking and gaming come together to bring excitement to fans of both worlds, as Super Mario meets Tag Heuer Connected. Tag Heuer has packed this Super Mario Connected Limited Edition model with a bunch of exclusives, both on the watch itself and the digital experience. The interface of the Tag Heuer Connected Super Mario Limited Edition has been completely redeveloped to include Super Mario’s theme colours. The watch faces on this connected model have been redesigned as well, which now include four dials that have details associated with the iconic Nintendo character.
The Timekeeping face of the original Tag Heuer Connected model has now been given a revamp, using elements of the 1985 version of Super Mario Bro for the design elements. Two versions of the Heuer 02 watch face have also been recreated for this limited edition piece. The first one is a fun rendition using Super Mario’s iconic red and blue colours with the second face being a classic one with subtle touches of Super Mario’s red cap. The last of the four faces is the Connected model’s Orbital watch face, which has now been replaced by Super Mario’s iconic elements that rotate in a beautiful movement.
Just as the watch interface has been redone to include Super Mario elements, the exterior of the watch is no different. Subtle references to the Super Mario character, this Connected Limited Edition model features push buttons, crown logo, and the bezel graduation which have all been filled with Super Mario’s famous red cap’s lacquered colour. The bezel also has a unique feature, in that it features three iconic symbols at the three, six, and nine o’clock positions, which are references to the Super Mario objects that are included in the dial animations, which the user can only unlock when achieving goals throughout the day. This sure is a fun way to keep track of goals and motivating the user to work harder. The sensors on this watch include a heart rate monitor, compass, accelerometer, metrics, and recorded activities.
The 45mm newly designed steel case comes with two interchangeable straps, both of which make references to the signature Super Mario Red colour. The first strap is an elegant black leather on red rubber, while the second strap option is a sporty alternative in matching red perforated rubber. Mario’s iconic M symbol is engraved on the strap buckles and also on the crown. Turning the watch case over, and we can see on the case back the special inscription “TAG Heuer x Super Mario Limited Edition”.
This watch comes presented in special packaging that has been specifically designed for this collaboration. Included in the packaging is a travel case in Super Mario red. The Tag Heuer Connected x Super Mario Limited Edition is limited to 2000 pieces and will only be available in Tag Heuer boutiques and on the brand’s official website (www.tagheuer.com).
