Earlier this month, Omega released a new James Bond limited edition timepiece. Omega has been giving the Seamaster as a high-tech gadget to James Bond since “GoldenEye” in 1995. This Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond Numbered Edition is a not only a continuation but also a celebration of this historic partnership. This watch indeed features a bold style and design elements which are iconic to James Bond and his story throughout the years.
Along with the sharp styling, comes the high tech details that 007 loves to enjoy. The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond Numbered Edition comes in a 42mm platinum gold case and a black ceramic bezel ring which has a platinum diving scale in positive relief. This latest James Bond timepiece by Omega is all about platinum. A platinum-gold plate is fixed on the side of the watch case, with the number of each individual watch in the “Numbered Edition” being engraved onto the plate. The same material is also used for the polished-brushed buckle on the leather strap.
This latest 007 piece has a black enamel dial which includes a spiralling gun barrel design done in 18K white gold. This spiralling gun barrel is an iconic image when thinking of James Bond, with the image featuring in nearly all of the Bond films. The timepiece features the same hidden details that were released in the James Bond collection in 2019. This includes the number 50, which is hidden in the Superluminova on the 10 o’clock hour marker. This number 50 is in reference to the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”.
The hour and minute hands along with the hour indexes have been done on 18k white gold, which provides the perfect contrast against the black enamel dial. Other subtle details on the dial include the 007 logo at 7 o’clock on the white enamel minute track and Bond’s family coat-of-arms at 12 o’clock position.
The movement used to power the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond Numbered Edition is the brands own Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8807.
