Breitling celebrated the 55th anniversary of their Patrouille Suisse Swiss Air Force Team ambassador by releasing the Avenger Swiss Air Force Team Limited edition model in October,2019. The Patrouille Suisse Swiss Air Force Team is an aerobatics team created in 1964, brought together by some of the most talented pilots in the Swiss Air Force. Fifty-five years after the team’s creation, the squadron puts up impressive aerial displays for audiences throughout Switzerland and other European countries. These stunning precision aerial performances are executed in six supersonic jets. To honour these highly skilled Swiss ambassadors, Breitling has released 550 pieces of the limited edition Avenger piece.
Breitling’s Avenger Swiss Air Force Team Limited Edition comes with a ratcheted uni-directional bezel on 45mm stainless-steel case. The dial is black with contrasting white hour indexes and hands, to make readability of the dial ever so easy. Touches of colour are added throughout the dial to really bring it to life. Red is used on the minute track, while yellow has been used for the tip of the minute hand as well as parts of the 30-minute counter on the 12 o’clock position. These two colours reflect the colors of the Patrouille Suisse squadron’s logo. The logo itself has also been added as part of the 9 o’clock subdial. To match the black dial, the Breitling Avenger Swiss Air Force Team Limited Edition comes with an anthracite leather military strap.
The engine powering the Avenger Swiss Air Force Team Limited Edition is Breitling’s calibre 13 movement. The Calibre 13 is a COSC-certified chronometer movement and can provide a minimum of 48 hours power reserve. This timepiece also has a water resistance of 30 bar (300 meters), making it quite a sturdy piece. The case back of the watch features an engraved Patrouille Suisse squadron 55th-anniversary logo, as well as the inscription “One of 550”.
