The luxury Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet has unveiled their first AP House in Singapore, located within the historic Raffles Hotel’s iconic Bar and Billard Room. AP House, for those that may not know, is Audemars Piguet’s exclusive luxury lounge concept that is designed to offer clients and collectors a more immersive, intimate brand experience beyond a traditional boutique setting.
Unlike a regular watch boutique, the AP Houses have been designed as luxury spaces or lounges where clients can relax, socialise and explore what the brand has to offer in a much more relaxed setting. Each of the AP houses established by Audemars Piguet so far has been meticulously designed to reflect the brand’s heritage and craftsmanship while also keeping in theme with what the city in which the house is located has to offer.
The AP House in Singapore is the latest establishment in which Audemars Piguet already has over 20 Houses situated in some of the world’s most vibrant cities, which include Amsterdam, Bangkok, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Milan, Mexico City, Munich, New York, Shanghai, Seoul, St Barths, Tokyo and Zurich. The various Houses have been developed in collaboration with some of Audemars Piguet’s most valued clients, with the establishments being developed with the concept of how the brand’s founders would live in the 21st century.

The AP House Singapore is located within the grounds of the preeminent Raffles Hotel, at the storied Bar and Billiard Room. The Raffles Hotel has quite a storied past. Founded in 1887, it is referred to as the Grande Dame of Singapore and has been the host to countless dignitaries and celebrities through the years. The Raffles Hotel today is a globally recognised landmark that has high regard for heritage and tradition, two ideologies that also deeply resonate with Audemars Piguet.
The Bar and Billard room, in which the AP House is situated, was opened after the hotel in 1896. It was the Hotel’s distinguished social hub for its esteemed guests, and continues to this day to stand as a treasured heritage building. As the custodians of this historic location now, Audemars Piguet has gone the extra length to preserve the building’s iconic architecture while also ensuring that the space within embodies the brand’s spirit of innovation and elegance.
The House has been designed as an ultra-contemporary living space. Audemars Piguet states, “Guests are invited to relax and explore Audemars Piguet’s universe in a blend of communal and private spaces with interiors inspired by the natural surroundings of Le Brassus and Singapore’s identity as the Garten City. Muted greens and gold-gilded accents add a touch of elegance, while organic materials such as wood and stone create a warm and inviting atmosphere.“
Inside the AP House Singapore, there are towering Norfolk Pine trees that anchor the corners of the House, resembling the Spruce trees that are native to Audemars Piguet’s hometown in Le Brassus, Switzerland. Locally sourced, large sections of Rain Tree are incorporated into several focal points within the space, including a striking feature wall, a stylised coffee table in the lounge area, and a long dining table that serves as a family gathering place. The stonework found throughout the establishment pays homage to the raw, elemental beauty of the Swiss Jura. A stand-out feature of the AP House Singapore is the central bar, which is made from marble with solid end stones that each weigh approximately 800 kilograms!
As guests enter the AP House Singapore, they are welcomed with three Watch Totems, each showcasing a curated selection of heritage timepieces. These include early pocket watches to more recent and modern timepieces, all highlighting Audemars Piguet’s rich horological history. At the centre of the AP House Singapore is a striking Watch Wall, which features a selection of Audemars Piguet’s current timepeices, giving an enticing view into the brand’s modern horology.
Audemars Piguet also gives a deeper look into the brand outside of watches, with the brand stating that “AP House Singapore seamlessly blends contemporary art, music, and gastronomy. The space includes a fully equipped gourmet kitchen and a 5-metre dining table, setting the stage for intimate culinary experiences that echo the brand’s dedication to artistry and human relationships. Of the three private salons, one is exclusively devoted to music. Featuring a high-fidelity audio system and a curated selection of vinyl records, this salon reflects the shared principles of precision and craft that unite both watchmaking and music.”
Unlike the other AP Houses found throughout the world, the Singapore edition has a special significance. It is the first-ever AP House to feature an AP Café. Open to the public, this cafe acts as a gateway to the world of Audemars Piguet, introducing the luxury Swiss watchmaker to those still yet to discover its rich heritage. The AP Café’s arched ceilings give a warm atmosphere that welcomes old friends and newcomers alike!
