With soon to be the arrival of the new James Bond film, comes a new 007 watch. As the 25th edition of the Bond film series is readying for launch, the timing is spot on for Omega to release a new Seamaster 007 Edition. Omega being the sponsor for James Bond’s timepieces for the last 25 years, hosted an event in New York to unveil its latest 007 creation.

The Top of the Standard in New York was chosen as the location to showcase the new Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition. The guests in attendance were treated to a unique display of Seamaster watches worn by Bond over the last 25 years. Actor Daniel Craig with the producers Michael G.Wilson and Barbara Broccoli were there to celebrate the special occasion alongside Raynal Aeschilmann (President and CEO of Omega), who introduced the special piece to the guests.

When designing the new Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition, Daniel Craig had a hand in how the final design turned out. The James Bond actor stated that “a lightweight watch would be key for a military man like 007 while adding some vintage touches and colours will give the watch a unique edge”.

Drawing from Bond’s own military experience, the final design of the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition is indeed visually stunning. Similar in appearance to Bond’s watch in the film “No Time to Die”, this particular 42 Seamaster model is crafted from Grade 2 Titanium. The vintage colours Daniel Craig was talking about has made it to final production, with the bezel insert, hour indexes, hands, and inscriptions on the dial all sporting a brown tropical colour. Omega have included a series of numbers on the case-back including the number 62, which was the year when the first Bond film “DR No” made its appearance.

The movement behind the Seamaster Diver 300M 007 edition is Omega’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8806 which has a high reputation for its precision, chronometric performance and also a magnetic resistance of 15,000 gauss. This automatic movement is self-winding in both directions and is rated to 300m water resistance (30 bar). The Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8806 movement also provides a generous power reserve of approximately 55 hours.

The OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition comes with a Grade 2 Titanium mesh bracelet that looks stunning, and compliments the overall look of the watch very well.

As with mesh bracelets, they are more resistant to scratches than traditional steel bracelets which gives you more flexibility and freedom in being able to wear to different occasions.

For those rare times when the OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition is not on your wrist, the watch also comes with a beautiful vintage pouch style case, which has an “Omega – 007” inscription on it. This certainly is one gadget 007 would be proud to have in his arsenal.
