The Carbonium material used in manufacturing the Freak X Carbonium is a new light weight and sustainable material. Carbonium is used in the aeronautical sector for the planes fuselages and wings. This new material is more environmentally friendly and structurally stronger than most carbon composites. It is also visually stunning.
Ulysse Nardin Freak X Carbonium’s movement is the calibre UN-230. The Calibre UN-230 pushes out a power reserve of approximately 50 hours and has a water resistance of ATM (50 meters). This movement powers the “Baguette” style minute hand that moves like a carousel on the dial. As each minute passes, the “baguette” minute hand would simply move one increment per minute, doing sixty movements per hour. The Calibre UN-230 also powers the unique hour indicator on the dial. The hour indicator is the gear wheel that’s closest to the hour markers. As you look closer at the dial, you can see the gear track lined up around a ring that’s connected to the hour indexes. As time passes, the hour gear wheel makes its way along this track as a normal hour hand would on a traditional watch.
