All new Zenith Defy Classic Ceramic

by Chamath Gamage

The Zenith Defy Classic Ceramic is the next step for Zenith in the revolutionary Defy range of models released by the brand. The Defy range encompasses various degrees of complex movements and openwork designs, which is shown throughout the Zenith Defy Classic Ceramic. This strikingly beautiful timepiece comes in blue, black and white ceramic cases.

The Zenith Defy Classic Ceramic comes in a new 41mm casing made from ultra-hard and integrally coloured ceramic. The dial is a simpler look compared to the other Defy models as it doesn’t have a chronograph. This gives the Zenith Defy Classic Ceramic a bolder yet sleek and elegant look.

On the open-work dial, a star-shaped pattern is forged above the movement to represent the iconic Zenith symbol. The open-work dial is blackened out on both black/ blue colours whilst the white dial has a silvery tone so that the hour markers, hour hand and the minute hand are easily legible. The hour markers and the hour and minute hands are ruthenium-plated, faceted and coated with Super-Luminova SLN C1. What this means in darkness, they emit a subtle green glow from the Super-Luminova.

The movement behind the Zenith Defy Classic Ceramic is Zenith’s 670Sk base calibre which is an in-house elite skeletonise movement. This movement can be seen from the face of the watch for the first time thanks to the openwork dial on the Zenith Defy Classic. The 670Sk calibre have 187 components as well as 27 jewels with a power reserve of approximately 48 hours. Special oscillating weight with satin-brushed finish can be seen on the Defy Classic ceramic models. All the models are equipped with rubber straps and DLC/titanium folding buckle in the same colour as the cases.

Leading the Defy range into the future, the Zenith Defy Classic Ceramic is an innovative, modern and attractive timepiece. With three vibrant colours available to purchase, there is a Defy Classic Ceramic for everyone.
