Meteorite dials aren’t extremely rare in the modern watch world. While yes they may be hard to attain, more and more brands are making dials with pieces of meteorite or making the whole dial itself from the material. The most notable brand to do so is Omega, and rightfully so, with the iconic Speedmaster having made the expedition to the Moon.
Rolex is no stranger to meteorite dials, either. These dials have featured in Rolex collections for decades, with the first models to have the meteorite dials being the Daytona and Day-Date watches. Rolex’s Datejust, GMT Master II and Pearlmaster collections all featured the meteorite dial; however, in the modern age, only the Day-Date, GMT Master II, and Daytona models have been given the out-of-this-world makeover.
The Daytona is one of the latest meteorite dial timepieces in Rolex’s collection. Released in 2021, Rolex released a trio of Daytona’s, all variations of gold materials, with an absolutely stunning display that featured a meteorite dial. The modern Daytona is highly sought after, especially the 116500LN panda dial variant, due to its wearability, wrist presence, and, of course, the beautiful three-dial black counter layout against the white lacquer dial.
With more than 60 years of history, the Daytona is a model that needs no introduction. This iconic piece is noticeable from almost anywhere and holds itself up very well in terms of classic styling and aesthetics that have been retained since the very first Daytonas.
Adding a meteorite dial to this aesthetically pleasing model makes it even more desirable. The 2021 introduction of meteorite dials on the Daytona saw Rolex release a white gold with a black ceramic bezel (Ref. 11659LN), yellow gold with a matching yellow gold bezel (Ref. 116508) or Everose gold with a matching Everose gold bezel (Ref. 116505). All three models had bracelets matching their case materials, except the white gold, which is presented in the Oysterflex bracelet.
While all three models have their own personalities, the one that stood out the best was the white gold with its black ceramic bezel. The yellow gold and Everose gold stand out beautifully in their own right; however, I think the meteorite dial seamlessly blends in with the overall look of the white gold model.

Tom Cruise has quite a watch collection, showing he has great taste in the watches he buys (we might look into his full collection, too, in a separate article!). His collection features several Rolex models, with the stand out being the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Meteorite Dial in white gold.
He was spotted wearing this timepiece on several occasions, with the above picture snapped at the Miami GP. Cruise has gone for the more casual and comfortable fit by opting to have the Daytona on Rolex’s Oysterflex rubber bracelet.

Macklemore (Benjamin Hammond Haggerly) is a well known American rapper. It is said that at the age of 15, Macklemore first started to write his lyrics. Macklemore won a number of Grammy Awards at the 2014 ceremony whilst also securing Best New Artist, Best Rap Album (The Heist), Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance (“Thrift Shop”).

Kevin O’Leary, another judge on the show, is a lot more well-known in the world of watches, not only for his collection but also for his voice and opinion on the world of horology.
Herjavec, while being a bit more subtle about his timepieces, his luxury watch collection is anything but. The Belgian-born professional footballer Kevin De Bruyne is very well-known in the footballing world, especially in his current role as a midfielder for Manchester City. Best known for delivering matching winning performances and providing an incredible amount of assists, De Bruyne has also gathered several trophies, the latest being Manchester City’s treble-winning season back in 2023.
Although De Bruyne’s watch collection may not be as large as some other professional footballers, the models he has are all heavy hitters. Hazard, like Kevin De Bruyne, also represents his country, Belgium, on the world stage. Hazard captained the national team at the 2018 Fifa World Cup, in which he took his team to a 3rd place finish, the highest the Belgium national team has ever reached in the competition.
Eden Hazard has quite an extensive watch collection that ranges through multiple brands, from Hublot, Patek Phillipe, and Richard Mille to Rolex.
