The standout feature of this watch is the carbon material used in the manufacturing process. The crown, chronograph pushers, and the casing are all manufactured from carbon fibre, making the Zenith Defy El Primero 21 Carbon very lightweight.
The dial on the Zenith Defy El Primero 21 Carbon is a work of art itself. The 1/100 second chronograph calibre 9004 movement is given a black coating, which nicely matches the casing of the Defy El Primero 21 Carbon. The beauty of this movement can be seen through the skeleton open dial, which is also black.
A signature feature of the Calibre 9004 is the chronograph being able to do one rotation per second. The movement has two escapements; one for the watch which operates at 36, 000 VpH (5Hz) and the other for the chronograph which operates at 360, 000 VpH (50 Hz). This incredible movement allows for three counters on the dial; small seconds at 9 o’clock, 60 second counter at 6 o’clock and 30 minute counter at 3 – o’clock. The Defy El Primero 21 Carbon has a power reserve of approximately 50 hours with a power reserve indicator for the chronograph shown at the 12 o’clock position. TIME Lab-Chronometer certification is also given to the Defy El Primero 21 Carbon.
The use of carbon fibre combined with an intelligently designed movement, the Zenith Defy El Primero 21 Carbon is sure to be a hit in the new Defy El Primero range. The watch also comes with a choice of two straps. The first being a black textured rubber strap and the other being a special rubber strap with a carbon effect.
