2019 – Baselworld Rolex Releases – Part 1

Rolex is has come into this year’s Baselworld event with 7 new timepieces under its belt for unveiling. With some of the models being released, Rolex has put out a few tweaks to existing models to give them a fresh update.  We have split up the 7 releases into two parts for easy viewing.

OYSTER PERPETUAL YACHT-MASTER 42

The new 42mm 18ct white gold Oyster Perpetual Yacht Master has given the Yacht-Master collection a new update, with precious metal now being used for the very first time in this range.  The watch also features a matt black ceramic Bi-direction bezel with 60 minute graduated cerachrom inserts. 

This particular model comes with the Oysterflex bracelet and much like the 18CT white gold casing, also comes with a Oysterlock safety clasp made of 18ct white gold. 

The movement powering the Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42 is the new generation Calibre 3235. This new movement developed in-house and patented by Rolex, contains the Chronergy escapement. The calibre 3235approxiumately has a power reserve of 70 hours.

OYSTER PERPETUAL SEA-DWELLER

The Sea-Dweller range has been also been given an update with 18ct yellow gold now being incorporated into the Sea-Dweller line up. The new Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller is made up of yellow Rolesor which combines Rolex’s Oystersteel and 18 ct yellow gold. To match the yellow 18ct gold, the Sea-Dweller inscription on the dial is also done in yellow.

The uni-directional rotatable bezel has also been given 18ct yellow gold finishes and has also been fitted with the 60-minute Cerachrom insert in black ceramic. The movement inside the Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller is the same Calibre as per the Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42 being the Calibre 3235.

OYSTER PERPETUAL GMT-MASTER II

The much hyped GMT Master II is renewed with a few subtle changes. The watch is still presented in Oystersteel and the two-tone Cerachrom Bezel in blue and black ceramic. The newest addition is the use of the Jubilee bracelet. The Oysterclasp with the Easylink comfort extension has also been incorporated into the Jubilee bracelet.

The movement inside the new Oyster Perpetual GMT-MASTER II is the new generation Calibre 3285. The Calibre 3285 has been noted for its superior performance and comes with second, minute, hour, date and second timezone functions. The Chronergy escapement has been incorporated into the Calibre 3285 and the power reserve has now been pushed upto roughly 70 hours.

OYSTER PERPETUAL COSMOGRAPH DAYTONA

The new Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona has been given a new face lift with the use of 18ct yellow gold and intertwined diamonds. The watch face comes with champagne coloured counters in the 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions. The dial itself is a paved black lacquer dial. 

The tachymetric  scale that’s present on previous Daytona bezel’s has now given way for the 36 trapeze-cut diamonds. Also to match the 18 ct yellow gold casing and face, the Oysterflex bracelet has been given a 18ct yellow gold Oysterlock safety clasp, which also comes with the Easylink comfort extension link.   

The movement inside the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona is the Calibre 4130. The movement offers upto 72 hours of power reserve.
