Audemars Piguet has added another model to their 34mm lineup, this time a white ceramic featuring a silver dial. The release of this model is most likely to pair it up against the already existing black ceramic model.
This white ceramic 34mm Royal Oak is certainly one cool watch. Perfect for summer fun, the white ceramic will be one to stand out from quite a distance. Within Audemars Piguet’s 34mm lineup, the brand already has quite a few ceramic timepieces. The Royal Oak limited edition (ref 77350CE.OO.1266CE.02.A) in collaboration with Carolina Bucci, and the non-limited edition Royal Oak (ref 77350CE.OO.1266CE.03.A). In fact, the standard black ceramic Royal Oak is the polar opposite of this model.
This all-new piece will be the first white ceramic in a 34mm. In fact, you could probably count on one hand how many white ceramic models are offered by Audemars Piguet throughout their Royal Oak lineup, making this new timepiece unique and quite sought after. The white ceramic currently being offered by Audemars Piguet is the Grande Complication (Ref. 26605CB.OO.1248CB.01), Tourbillon open-worked OnlyWatch Edition (1 of 1), and now this 34mm edition. It’s safe to say that only a select few will ever get a chance of owning yet alone seeing the Grande complication model in person, making this new 34mm the most accessible white ceramic model in the Royal Oak lineup.
The 34mm black ceramic model comes with a black “Grande Tapisserie” dial, so naturally, Audemars Piguet has gone the same route and given this new 34mm white ceramic a silver “Grande Tapisserie” dial. Both models come with pink gold hour indices, hands, and screws on the bezel, while the “Audemars Piguet” logo at 12 o’clock is done as an applied gold signature. The AP logo on the crown is also done in matching pink gold. Having the pink gold accents on the dial gives it a more elegant feel and also helps it to stand out more. If white gold was used instead as per the brand’s other silver dial timepieces, then against the white ceramic it would’ve been too washed out.
It’s also needless to say that the black ceramic version with pink gold accents stands out beautifully, however, this white ceramic is made for its own adventure. While the black ceramic is more versatile, the white ceramic is reserved for those fun occasions and adventures. This is a model that is bound to leave a lasting impression regardless of the occasion!
This 34mm white ceramic is fitted with the brand’s in-house calibre 5800 movements. The movement operates at a high-frequency of 28,800 VpH (4hz) and gives out a pretty decent power reserve of 50 hours. The case back of this timepiece is colour matched with the rest of the timepiece, as it features pink gold for the actual case back and also the winding rotor.
While white ceramic is not everyone’s cup of tea, this new 34mm Royal Oak in White Ceramic will surely be a sell-out timepiece. Not only is it because it’s unique in AP’s lineup and is a non-limited edition model, but also because it actually looks really good! I would certainly rock one if given the opportunity!
