TAG Heuer and Porsche are two brands that share similar DNA. A passion for motor racing, with both brands having quite the history. The two brands have been in a global partnership since 2021. This latest timepiece by TAG Heuer follows from their previous collaboration with Porsche, the TAG Heuer x Porsche Carrera Chronograph.
Since 2015, TAG Heuer has been creating luxury smartwatches, establishing themselves as an unmissable player in the smartwatch industry. This latest timepiece, the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4- Porsche Edition, is the culmination of all their knowledge and history with smartwatches and luxury mechanical timepieces.
The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4- Porsche Edition is inspired by the iconic all-electric Porsche Taycan collection. The frozen blue colour used on the electric Taycan is used as a reference on the watch case, the bezel markings, stitching on the strap and within the software used. Owners of this special limited edition timepiece that have compatible Porsche models (Panamera (G2 II models from 2022 onwards), Panamera (G2), 911 (992 models from 2022 onwards), 911, Cayenne (E3 models from 2022 onwards), Cayenne (E2 II), 718, Macan II/III, Macan, Taycan) will have access to an exclusive watch face, that gives them readings of the car battery percentage, milage, temperature gauge etc. All these extra features are shown within the watch’s tri-counter layout!
Even though the watch’s heart is electronic, the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4- Porsche Edition still comes with mechanical features. For example, the timepiece has a 45mm case made from black titanium, highlighting details in the frozen blue metallic shade as a reference to the electric Taycan. The bezel is made from black ceramic with a polished finish. The crown is black steel with surrounding black rubber, while the chronograph pushers have a distinctive mechanical feel. All these features are used on TAG Heuer’s luxury mechanical watches. The titanium case back on the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4- Porsche Edition even comes with the engraving “TAG Heuer x Porsche”.
The watch strap is tailored to suit this special Porsche edition perfectly. TAG Heuer has taken references from the interior of Porsche cars and portrayed that in the strap’s appearance. The strap is made from carbon-like black calfskin with blue stitching. This design echoes the inside of the electric Taycan in its luxury appearance. A spare black rubber strap is also available as a choice.
As the latest version of the Connected timepiece, the TAG Heuer Connected CAlibre E4- Porsche Edition comes with various technical improvements. The watch now comes with a brighter screen, better contrast, and battery life, lasting 30% longer than previous models.
