The Oris Rectangular makes a comeback to the watch scene with new proportions, dial design, and movement. Oris already has a few Rectangular models in their collection, however none as elegant and stylish as these new models. The latest Oris Rectangular timepieces come in four colour variants, with the movement, functionality, and dimensions remaining the same in every model.
What makes this model stand out is the classic dressy four-sided stainless steel case and the steps on the case flanks which amplify its overall presence. The style of these four watches has been heavily influenced by Art Deco Style and it can be seen in the contemporary colours chosen. The four models include a white dial with a yellow strap, a blue dial with a blue strap, an anthracite dial with a dark green strap, and finally a Bordeaux dial colour with a matching Bordeaux strap. All strap options are leather with stainless steel buckle and feature the integrated quick-change system.
Design:
The rectangular stainless steel case measures 25.50 x 30.00mm which features domed sapphire on both the front and back. The dial has sharp hour printed hour indices in contrast colours to the dial (black for white dial, white for other colours). The hour markers at 3, 6, 9, and 12 are done in Arabic numerals. The hour and minute hands are designed as sword-shaped which matches the sharp hour indices and is what makes this watch quite elegant. The last feature on the dial is the subtle date window located at the 6 o’clock position.
Movement:
The movement used inside these four new Oris Rectangular timepieces is the Oris 561 calibre movement. This automatic winding movement powers the watch’s hour, minute, and second hands, instantaneous date feature, date corrector, fine timing device and stop second. The Oris 561 calibre movement operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28, 800 VpH) and can power the watch up to approximately 38 hours. The bonus in these pieces is that the movement can be seen from the case back.
